Still using Internet Explorer 6?

Printer-friendly version

Special notice for Internet Explorer 6 users

Please note that, as of September 2011, SciVerse ScienceDirect will no longer be actively supporting Internet Explorer version 6 (IE6), released in 2001.

SciVerse ScienceDirect endeavours to support multiple web browsers in order to meet the various needs of our users. However, with the advent of interactive and other multimedia applications and their increasing availability on ScienceDirect, we feel that we are no longer able to provide our IE6 users with the best possible user experience.

We have therefore decided to stop supporting IE6 as of September 2011. We suggest that you (or your IT department) upgrade to the latest relevant version of Internet Explorer before then so that you can continue to benefit from an optimized user experience. IE6 users will still be able to access full-text articles on ScienceDirect but may come across some inconsistencies on how the site will display.

Please note that Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 9 in March 2011. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP or NT, you will not be able to install IE9. This browser version is meant to be used on Windows Vista, 7 & eventually 8. If you are currently running Windows XP, please install IE7 or IE8.

Thank you for your understanding and please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Next steps:

1. Upgrade now

Or

2. Send an email to your IT department asking them to upgrade to the latest supportable version of IE (IE8 for XP or NT users or IE9 for Vista 7 users).
