SciVerse Hub Releases
On February 26, 2011 Elsevier launched several highly anticipated enhancements to its SciVerse platform with the aim to improve ease of use. This includes increased synergy and transparency , improved access and navigation and enhanced precision and clarity of results.
We are confident that these changes to SciVerse Hub beta will bring it more in line with users’ expectations, helping researchers to further increase their productivity while also saving time.
Search results
SciVerse Hub search results will soon display all versions of a returned result. With one additional click users will now also see the duplicate results from alternate sources, demonstrating SciVerse’s vast content coverage.
Document icons
New icons will help identify document types in SciVerse Hub search results, providing better transparency of the returned documents. These new icons will include: ScienceDirect, Scopus, SciTopics, Journals, Patents, Preferred Web, and Other Web.
Search syntax
The search syntax on SciVerse Hub will now support searches from Google, SciVerse Scopus and SciVerse ScienceDirect by automatically translating those queries, making it easier for users to search the way they want.
Source Type
From the SciVerse Hub search box on the home page, users will be able to search across additional fields and have the option to filter search results based on source type (e.g. All, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web and/or Patents) prior to running their search.
