Pay-per-view
Guest users on ScienceDirect, as well as registered users from subscribing institutions, are able to purchase content (e.g. journal articles, book chapters, etc.) from non-subscribed titles with a credit card. Access will be instant and available for 24 hours, both in HTML and as a downloadable PDF document.
Each pay-per-view transaction for Elsevier-owned content costs $31.50 (subject to change). Pricing for third-party journals on ScienceDirect is set by the publisher.
Pay-per-view is available for various types of content on SciVerse ScienceDirect, including:
- Journals: Article, Editorial Board Notes, Book Review or Table of Content
- Books: Individual chapters, Preface, Author Biographies, Copyright Statement or Index.
Please be aware of which content type you have chosen prior to making your purchase. When purchasing content via Pay-per-view, always refer to the abstract for more information. You may also find it helpful to:
- Look just above the heading of the article to see what type of content you are viewing: article, book review, etc.
- Refer to the number of pages listed after the volume and issue number in the same line which will give you an idea of how much content you will be purchasing.
