September 2011 Release Scopus

Through September Elsevier launched several enhancements to the SciVerse platform   enabling improved user workflow.  Your search, your way is the theme and improvements to Scopus functionality will yield benefits to almost every level of researcher.

For users of the Refine results window, a much requested category has been added, Country.  Now searches can be narrowed by excluding or limiting to a single country -- or group of countries thus assisting researchers who may be looking for local collaborators, or to assess a country’s aptitude or specialty in a particular subject area. 

The users of the Advanced Search on Scopus benefit from a bigger, expandable search box that allows for query formatting and error messaging.  This assists users of the advanced search form to read and understand complex queries more easily and hence, find and correct their errors more quickly. 

With this release -- Your search, your way continues through to the results as search terms are highlighted in bold throughout the retrieved abstracts.  Now scanning search results is even faster and easier enabling users to move on to other tasks.
