Scopus and ScienceDirect Document Download Manager Enhancements

The Document Download Manager (DDM) allows users to select and automatically download, re-name and save multiple documents simultaneously. This service allows users to spend less time gathering information and more time for their real work. Initially, the Document Download Manager was only available for a limited number of browsers and we realize this has frustrated some of our users. We are happy to announce that list of compatible browsers has been expanded to include all commonly used browsers and browser versions, including Chrome and improved Mac support. As a result, more researchers can now benefit from this highly effective and time saving functionality.

The content delivery network domains are:

ars.els-cdn.com (new from 17 March)
ac.els-cdn.com (new from 17 March)
cdn.els-cdn.com

What does this mean for users of SciVerse ScienceDirect?

Benefit from improved navigation and readability
In order to increase the value of the HTML version of the articles on SciVerse ScienceDirect for our users, we are working towards a complete redesign of the article page which will be rolled out in several phases.

The new article page will consist of three panes - left and middle panes now available. The left pane focuses on navigation options within the article while the middle pane features the actual article in a format much like the PDF version (which many users have told us they prefer). The right pane,...
