September 2011 Release Applications
Through September 2011, Elsevier launched several important enhancements to its SciVerse platform. Your search, your way is the theme aiming to give users more control over how they search as well as offer new ways for users to find more relevant results for their research.
What does this mean for SciVerse Applications?
Exciting New Applications!
The first paid applications will be available in the next few weeks, starting with our first paid application- quantiFind! The quantiFind application enables a researcher to quickly:
- get an overview of the key metrics and data for a topic of interest from a vast body of documents
- understand what’s relevant and important even when the question at hand is not fully defined
Developed by our partner of the same name, quantiFind’s unique technology automatically extracts relevant data from almost 11 million SciVerse ScienceDirect journal articles and book chapters enabling the user to spot trends, investigate outliers or identify white space where research is lacking. Users automatically see suggested terms and metrics which are contextually relevant to their search, and unique visualization tools provide them easy access to quantities, distributions and trends in the data. For more information, see a brief tutorial video from quantiFind.
