Welcome to the Personalizing Your Settings online tutorial.
You can personalize certain features by registering on ScienceDirect. If you are logged in, many of these features are accessible from the ScienceDirect Home page.
A list of your recent activities is available on the ScienceDirect Home page with links to return to the results of each action.
Quick Links to favorite journals/books, frequently used features/functions in ScienceDirect, and Internet sites are available from the Home page.
You can customize your ScienceDirect Home page by opening or closing the new task areas.
If you are logged in, ScienceDirect will remember the areas you closed or opened and will present the ScienceDirect Home page accordingly in your next sessions.
To access your personal account features, click My Settings.
Links to the available personalization features are listed.
You can add this page to your Quick Links and access it directly from the ScienceDirect Home page.
If you are logged in and have previously made article purchases in ScienceDirect, the Purchased Articles link is available.
To access a list of your current article purchases and your purchase history, click Purchased Articles.
You can add this page to your Quick Links and access it directly from the ScienceDirect Home page.
Let's go back to the My Settings page.
To review or modify your stored Alerts, click Add/Remove Alerts.
Links are also available to access the appropriate areas in which Alerts can be added or deleted.
Let's return to the My Settings page.
To make changes to your profile information or personal user preferences, click Modify Personal Details and Preferences.
Here, you can update your profile or change the personal user preferences you have selected.
If you have a subscription to the reference management software, RefWorks, you can maintain your RefWorks information here.
This will expedite your RefWorks login when you want to export citations to RefWorks.

If you haven't already done so, click the check-box in agreement to the Registered User Agreement's terms and conditions.
Let's return to the My Settings page.
To change your personal login password, click Change Password.
Here, you can create a new password for your personal login.

To review the titles and coverage dates for all the journals, books, handbooks, and reference works in your subscription or available in ScienceDirect, click ScienceDirect Electronic Holdings Reports.
Select the titles you want to include and click on a report format.
Here, all details regarding the journals, books, handbooks, and reference works in ScienceDirect are available for review and download.
Use the browser Back button to return to the My Settings page or click Home to return to the ScienceDirect home page.
